Cocopeat is the binding material that comes from the fibre portion of the husk and is also known as Coir pith or Coir dust is a by-product of extracting coir fibre from the husk of a coconut. The coir dust is washed, heat treated, screened and graded before being processed into various Cocopeat products for horticultural/agricultural applications and as industrial absorbent. The compressed cocopeat is converted into fluffy cocopeat by addiing water. One kilogram of compressed cocopeat will expand to 15 litres of moist cocopeat. The Cocopeat by itself does not have any nutrients for plant growth. Necessary nutrients will have to be added according to the plant that is to be grown exclusively in cocopeat.

Coir pith is the by-product of the coconut processing industry, in which coconut husks are processed to extract the fibres. Coco peat is a multipurpose growing medium made out of coconut husk. The fibrous coconut husk is pre washed, machine dried, sieved and made free from sand and other contaminations such as animal and plant residue. Coco peat is a very good alternative to traditional peat moss and Rock wool. Its air filled porosity and high water holding capacity makes it, an ideal growing medium for the plant crops. Coir pith enhances the nutrient carrying capacity of plants.

Cocopeat is also mixed with sand, compost and fertilizer to make good quality potting soil. In horticulture, cocopeat is recommended as substitute for peat because it is free from bacteria and fungal spores and is produced without any environmental damage caused by peat mining. Being a good absorbent, dry cocopeat can be used as an oil absorbent on slippery floors. Cocopeat is also used as bedding in animal farms, poultry farms and pet houses to absorb animal waste so as to keep the farm clean and dry.

Sustainable agriculture practices such as this creates a healthy perfect loop from table to earth. Pure and natural, this organic biodegradable matter is an economical and natural alternate for rockwool slabs, peatmoss and perlite. This natural spongy coir industry by-product is a perfect organic growing medium for fruits such as strawberry, vegetables such as pepper, cucumber, tomatoe, and flowers such as gerbera, gladiol, lily, anthurium and rose.

Yes we can arrange for shipping and we can get best prices, but inland destination service in a specific country, door delivery and service to the rare ports take little more time to find out shipping prices. Since the shipping companies take more time to find out prices because of time zone difference between countries.
